Where Are All The Resources When It Comes To Sex, Relationships And Disability? – READY FOR REVIEW
Here’s a list of resources to help plug the gap around sex and disability
Brook have reported the statistic that 80% of professionals who deliver sexual health education to young people with a disability struggle to find relevant resources.
It’s hard to find resources and information around sexual relations, love and disability, and it’s not just professionals who need this!
Education is empowering, especially when it comes to sex, relationships, sexuality and desire. We all have the right to such education.
This will also help to unravel the societal stigma shrouding sexual relations and disability.
So we’ve compiled a bank of the existing resources we could find!
There is a real mix: from resources to deliver RSE, to videos and blog articles sharing experiences.
1. Enhance the UK
Enhance the UK are a charity, run by disabled people changing the view of disability within society. They have a lot of fantastic resources and offer support.
- The Love Lounge offers free advice and support on sex, love and disability.
- Free relationships and sex resources – including their online magazine
- Their #UndressingDisability campaign offers even more information and videos
2. Hannah Witton
Hannah Witton makes fantastic videos about all sorts of important topics, and she’s published one called: Disability, Sex, Relationships and Dating Roundtable.

Brook have published a series of videos on sexual health education in British Sign Language, which are available here.
The organisation also has lots more information and resources in their Sexual Health Week 2019 section, including support for professionals, family and carers.
4. Mencap
Mencap are a charity supporting people with a learning disability and they have a section dedicated to sexuality and relationships.
